Stephen Pope
President, Skylands Aircraft Sales
Stephen Pope has spent more than 30 years immersed in aviation, as a pilot, well-known aviation journalist, and industry leader. Before founding Skylands Aircraft Sales, he served as Editor-in-Chief of Flying, the world’s most widely read aviation magazine, and held senior roles with leading aviation organizations involved in sales and marketing of new and used aircraft.
Over the course of his career, Stephen has flown dozens of aircraft types, from classic taildraggers to turboprops and jet aircraft, and has written thousands of articles on aircraft performance, technology, ownership, and more. His work has earned numerous honors, including multiple NBAA Gold Wing Awards for journalism excellence and the Royal Aeronautical Society’s top aerospace journalism award. In 2019, he was inducted into the New Jersey Aviation Hall of Fame.
